FAQ

What is this network all about? Who are you guys?

We are made up of primarily Asian-American English-speaking pastors who REALLY care about friendship and connection with other pastors. Many of us serve in churches within the SBC Asian Collective.

Why do you call yourselves "NextGen" & what does that mean?

NextGen means more to us than reaching youth/young adults, as the term is commonly used. Many churches within the Asian Collective started with first-generation immigrant pastors. We want to honor the history and steward these churches well for the future by building up the Next Generation of pastors who can carry the baton and make disciples for future generations. This Network provides the intergenerational experiences, wisdom, and support to enable NextGen to grow and thrive in our contexts locally and nationally.

How involved are you with the SBC at large?

We are very committed to strengthening denominational partnership which serves the local church. Our desire is to see our local churches be connected to other SBC entities beyond just financial giving. Asian churches in the SBC have a unique perspective and opportunity to serve together for the Great Commission.

When do you meet & how can I join?

Anyone can join! We care deeply about pastoral friendships. Our monthly book club meets on Zoom and we have regional events throughout the year. For more information, please reach out to our leadership team members. They will be glad to meet and get to know you

Where will future Asian NextGen events be held?

We will see you at the SBC 2024 Annual Meeting in Indianapolis! Join us for lunch featuring a panel discussion and talk on family discipleship in Asian church contexts. Register for the Monday, June 10th event here!
